U-19s win Silver in Coastal Lotto Tournament
The annual Lotto u-19 tournament was held over Labour weekend at Coastal Spirit's Cuthberts Green. Ferrymead Bays did very well this year: they had a draw and two wins on the first day of pool play, followed by a win and a loss on the second day - so from a pool of 6 they finished second top qualifier. This put them in the semi-finals, versing Dunedin Technical, who they convincingly dispatched 4-0. They then met Dunedin's Green Island in the final on Monday, coming out a close second 2-1 in a rather scrappy game. A great result for the Club overall though, with Prems player Sho Mathieson being voted the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
South Island Masters 2017
Ferrymead Bays provided an over 45s men's team and a social women's team for the 2017 South Island Tournament
The men came 5th and the women 6th in what proved to be difficult conditions in rain-soaked Nelson
A special mention goes out to club secretary Erna Rogers in coming out of unofficial retirement for her first game in 20 years!
